Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account on Pretty Good Dating ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

Pretty Good Dating is operated by Sheldon Stewart ("we", "us", "our"). The Service is new and still growing, and features may change as it develops.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Account Registration

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You may not create more than one account per person. Accounts found to be duplicates may be removed without notice.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Upload content that is obscene, offensive, hateful, or discriminatory
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Use automated systems, bots, or scripts to access the Service
• Solicit money or commercial services from other users
• Spam, scam, or deceive other users in any way
• Share or distribute another user's personal information without consent

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

4a. Community Safety & Reporting

Pretty Good Dating is committed to maintaining a safe community. All accounts are manually reviewed and approved by a real person before being activated. To protect users:

• Reporting: Users can report profiles or messages for harassment, spam, inappropriate content, or suspected fraud. All reports are reviewed by our team.
• Blocking: Users can block any other user. Blocked users cannot view your profile, send you messages, or interact with you in any way.
• Rate limits: Chat requests are limited to 5 per day to prevent spam and protect users from unwanted contact overload.
• Enforcement: Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination depending on severity.

5. Content & Photos

Profile photos must meet our Photo Guidelines. We manually review photos and may remove any that do not meet those standards. If removal brings your profile below the minimum photo count, your profile becomes incomplete until you upload replacements.

You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, text, profile information). By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.

You represent that you have the right to upload any content you submit and that it does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights.

We do not actively monitor all user content but reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or is reported by other users.

5a. Promoting PGD With Your Profile

Promotional use (with your consent): If you opt in via onboarding or your profile settings, you grant Pretty Good Dating a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your profile content to promote the site, according to the option you selected. Profile details only covers your answers and interests without your name, age, photos, or location. Full spotlight also covers your name, age, general location, and photos. Promotion includes PGD's social media channels (e.g. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube), featured placements on Browse, and paid advertising on third-party platforms.

Front page showcase (separate opt-in): If you separately opt in to the front page showcase, PGD may show your full profile, including your photos, to anyone who visits the PGD home page, including people who are not members. PGD shows one opted-in member per day. This is independent of the choice above, and visitors may take screenshots or copies.

Withdrawing consent: You may withdraw this permission at any time in My Profile. Withdrawal applies to future use only. Content already published (social posts, ads, or website content that has been copied, cached, or captured), or on third-party platforms, may remain publicly available, and we cannot guarantee removal of all copies, screenshots, or reposts.

Removal requests: If you withdraw consent or want specific content removed, contact us at info@prettygooddating.com. We will remove your profile from the PGD website and landing pages promptly, and make reasonable efforts to remove content from other accounts and channels we control, but we do not guarantee complete removal from the internet or from third-party platforms.

6. Early Members and Referrals

Any badges, numbers, or perks offered to early members are provided on a best-effort basis and may be changed or discontinued at any time as the Service develops.

Referral rewards are subject to change and are not guaranteed. We reserve the right to modify the referral program at any time.

7. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether online or offline. We do not conduct background checks on users. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pretty Good Dating and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may delete your account at any time through the Service's settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
